Fall in Love with Your Business Again – Reignite Your Passion for What You Do

Because Your Business Should Light You Up, Not Burn You Out

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you are celebrating love with a partner, your best friends, or a pint of ice cream, today is also the perfect time to rekindle the fire with another important relationship—your business!

Remember when you first started? You were excited, motivated, and ready to take on the world. But somewhere along the way, the passion fizzled out. The long hours, endless to-do lists, and stress replaced that honeymoon-phase excitement. If your business has started to feel more like an obligation than an inspiration, it’s time to shake things up.

Just like in any great relationship, your business needs attention, effort, and a little bit of romance to keep the spark alive. So let’s dive into how you can fall in love with your business all over again.

Step One – Reconnect with Your “Why”
When you first started your business, you had a reason. Maybe it was freedom, financial independence, or a deep desire to make an impact. Whatever it was, reconnect with that purpose.

Take a moment to reflect on what excited you about this journey in the first place. What got you fired up? What did you dream about when you first launched?

If you feel stuck, here’s a little exercise: Write down five things you love about your business. Five things that make all the hard work worth it. Keep that list somewhere visible as a daily reminder of why you do what you do. Passion fades when purpose gets lost, so reignite that fire by getting crystal clear on what truly drives you.

Step Two – Break Up with What’s Not Working
Not every part of a relationship is perfect—same goes for business. If you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, chances are you are holding onto tasks, clients, or strategies that no longer serve you.

I get it—I’m an eternal optimist. I’ve fallen into the trap of thinking, “If I just give it more time, it will get better.” But I’ve learned the hard way that hope can be an addictive drug called Hopium. Sometimes, you need to cut your losses and move forward.

Maybe you are spending way too much time on things that don’t move the needle. Maybe you are working with clients who drain you instead of inspire you. Or maybe your daily grind feels more like a chore than a challenge.

This is your permission slip to let go. Delegate. Automate. Outsource. Say goodbye to things that are sucking the life out of your business and focus on what truly lights you up.

Step Three – Inject Fun Back into Your Work
Think about when you were most excited about your business. What were you doing? Who were you working with? Bring more of that energy into your daily routine.

Shake things up. Try a new marketing strategy that actually excites you. Change up your work environment. Find a networking group where you actually enjoy the people. Make time for the parts of your business that bring you the most joy.

When you love what you do, that energy is contagious. Your clients feel it. Your audience feels it. And most importantly—you feel it.

Step Four – Get Obsessed with Your Business and Go All In
Forget half-assing it—if you really want to grow your business, you need to immerse yourself in it. The most successful entrepreneurs don’t just work on their business, they live it, breathe it, and 10X everything they do.

You should be talking about your business at breakfast, brainstorming ideas in the shower, and dreaming about your next big move before you fall asleep. When people ask, “How’s business?” you don’t just say “good”—you light up and tell them all about the exciting things you are building, the goals you’re smashing, and the vision you’re bringing to life.

This is not about working more—it’s about being obsessed with your success. It’s about having the discipline to go after your goals with relentless energy. Prioritizing your growth, pushing your limits, and making your dreams non-negotiable.

The truth is, your business will only grow as much as you’re willing to commit to it. So step up, go all in, and show the world what happens when passion meets unstoppable action.

I went to a networking event yesterday at Rosie’s Bar & Grill in Wilton Manors. Tropical-chic to the max. You know the kind of place - upscale casual, strong cocktails, mandatory valet. Now usually, I’m all about valet. But not yesterday. I wasn’t there to sip martinis or hang around all night. I could only stay for 20-minutes. That means - I was on a serious 20-minute mission: say hi, shake hands, peace out. Then, get back in my car to jump on a Zoom meeting! I certainly wasn’t about to drop $20 just to park my car for 20 minutes. No way! I pulled into the valet area, looked the guy dead in the eye, and said, “I’ll be in and out faster than your last relationship. Can I just park it right here?” And bless his heart - he said yes. Honestly, that should’ve been my win for the night. But then I met Sean Gac-Guerrier. Sean’s the Marketing Director at Excel Title, Inc. We started talking about dogs - and **cue the angels singing. We clicked instantly. Not two strangers meeting, more like two childhood friends who hadn’t seen each other in a decade! Sean showed me a photo of his dog, Dottie. I pulled out pics of my girl, Adelaide. Then he pulled out a photo of Dottie that stopped me in my tracks. Sean had a photo of what Dottie would look like as a human. Not a cartoon. Not a filter. I’m talking AI-generated, fully humanized, real-world, cardigan-wearing, intelligent-and-intimidating Dottie. I was mesmerized! It was as if Pixar and the FBI teamed up to design her. I looked at Adelaide’s pic… then looked back at Sean… and blurted out, “I need to humanize my dog!!” And I did. I went home, found the exact AI prompt, uploaded Adelaide’s photo, answered a few fun questions about her personality, and style - then… BOOM. Human Adelaide was born. Tall, lean, cozy-chic, with that unmistakable “don’t-mess-with-me-but-I’ll-still-hug-you” vibe. She looked like she ran Homeland Security and still had time for tacos and espresso martinis on a rooftop. Honestly? I stared at the image for like five minutes. Because it wasn’t just about making something cute. It was about seeing something familiar - something you know - come to life in a new way. Here’s the AI Prompt if you want to try it yourself:
