Boost Your Productivity at Work with These 3 Daily Habits

This is a subtitle for your new post

Hey there, fellow go-getters! I totally get it – the struggle to stay productive amidst the chaos of our daily lives can feel like an uphill battle. Whether you're juggling meetings, deadlines, or the occasional curveball life throws your way, maintaining productivity can seem daunting, right? But fear not! I’m here to share three easy everyday habits that can help you achieve better productivity at work. I promise you, these habits are simple to implement and can make a world of difference in your daily routine. Let's dive in and get you on the path to productivity success!
Habit #1 - Plan Your Day the Night Before
Imagine waking up every morning with a clear roadmap of what needs to be done. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, you can turn this dream into reality by spending just a few minutes each evening planning your next day. I set my alarm to go off at 8pm every night with a reminder that says, “Schedule for Tomorrow”. This simple habit of planning your day the night before, can revolutionize your productivity and set the tone for a successful day ahead.
Why Planning Ahead Works
Planning your day the night before helps reduce the morning chaos and decision-making stress. By the time you finish your morning coffee, you'll be ready to tackle your tasks with laser-sharp focus. Here's how to make this habit work for you:
- Create a To-Do List
- List down everything you need to accomplish the next day. Be specific and break down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps.
- Prioritize Your Tasks
- Identify the most important tasks that need your immediate attention. These are your "must-do" tasks for the day. Prioritizing ensures that you focus on what truly matters and avoid getting sidetracked by less critical tasks.
- Set Realistic Goals
- Be realistic about what you can achieve in a day. Overloading your to-do list can lead to frustration and burnout. Aim for a balance between productivity and maintaining your sanity.
- Visualize Your Success
- Take a moment to visualize yourself completing your tasks successfully. This mental exercise can boost your motivation and set a positive tone for the day ahead.
Implementing the Habit
Start tonight! Spend 10-15 minutes planning your next day. You might be surprised at how much more in control and productive you feel. By reducing morning decision fatigue, you can dive straight into your work with a clear sense of purpose.
Habit #2 – Take Regular Breaks
Contrary to popular belief, working non-stop does not equate to being more productive. In fact, it can lead to burnout and decreased efficiency. Incorporating regular breaks into your workday can help maintain your focus, energy levels, and overall productivity.
The Science Behind Breaks
Our brains are not designed to focus on a single task for extended periods. Studies show that taking short breaks throughout the day can enhance concentration and prevent mental fatigue. One effective method to structure your breaks is the Pomodoro Technique.
The Pomodoro Technique
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that encourages working in short bursts, typically 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break. After completing four "Pomodoros," take a longer break of 15-30 minutes. Here’s how you can implement this technique:
- Set a Timer
- Choose a task and set a timer for 25 minutes. Focus solely on that task until the timer goes off.
- Take a Break
- When the timer rings, take a 5-minute break. Step away from your desk, stretch, grab a drink, or take a short walk.
- Repeat
- After completing four Pomodoros, take a longer break to recharge.
Benefits of Regular Breaks
Taking regular breaks helps maintain high levels of focus and productivity. It prevents burnout, reduces stress, and allows your brain to process information more effectively. You'll return to your work feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the next task with renewed energy.
Implementing the Habit
Start by setting a timer for your work sessions and breaks. Experiment with different intervals to find what works best for you. Remember, the key is to give your brain a chance to rest and recharge, so you can maintain peak productivity throughout the day.
Habit #3 - Minimize Distractions
We live in a world full of distractions – from buzzing smartphones to noisy environments. Minimizing distractions is crucial for maintaining productivity and staying focused on your tasks.
Identify Common Distractions
The first step in minimizing distractions is identifying what typically pulls your attention away from work. Common distractions include:
- Smartphone Notifications
- Constant notifications from social media, emails, and apps can disrupt your focus and productivity.
- Email Alerts
- Frequent email notifications can interrupt your workflow and lead to multitasking, which reduces efficiency.
- Noise and Interruptions
- A noisy environment or interruptions from colleagues can break your concentration.
Strategies to Minimize Distractions
Once you've identified your common distractions, it's time to implement strategies to minimize them. Here are some tips to help you stay focused:
- Turn Off Non-Essential Notifications
- Disable notifications for social media and non-urgent apps during work hours. Consider using "Do Not Disturb" mode on your phone to avoid interruptions.
- Set Email Boundaries
- Designate specific times to check and respond to emails, rather than reacting to every notification. This approach allows you to focus on your tasks without constant interruptions.
- Create a Dedicated Workspace
- If possible, set up a dedicated workspace that is free from distractions. Use noise-canceling headphones or white noise apps to block out background noise.
- Communicate Boundaries
- Let colleagues and family members know your work hours and when you prefer not to be disturbed. Setting clear boundaries can help minimize interruptions.
- Use Focus Tools
- There are various apps and tools designed to help you stay focused. Apps like StayFocusd or Focus@Will, can block distracting websites and provide a conducive work environment.
Implementing the Habit
Start by identifying your biggest distractions and implementing one or two strategies to minimize them. Gradually build on these strategies until you create a work environment that supports your productivity.
Putting It All Together
Incorporating these three easy everyday habits into your routine can significantly enhance your productivity at work. Let's recap:
- Plan Your Day the Night Before
- Spend a few minutes each evening organizing your tasks for the next day. Prioritize, set realistic goals, and visualize your success to start your day with clarity and purpose.
- Take Regular Breaks
- Implement the Pomodoro Technique to structure your workday. Work in focused bursts, followed by short breaks to maintain your energy and concentration levels.
- Minimize Distractions
- Identify common distractions and implement strategies to minimize them. Turn off non-essential notifications, set email boundaries, create a dedicated workspace, and use focus tools to stay on track.
Remember, the key to success is consistency. Start small, and gradually build these habits into your daily routine. Before you know it, you'll be achieving better productivity and making the most of your workdays. So, what are you waiting for? Let's get started and make every day a productive one!

You ever walk into Costco for one thing, and leave wondering what the heck just happened to your life? That was me last night. All I needed was paper towels. Just one 12-pack brick of industrial absorbency, thank you very much. But the moment I stepped through those magical warehouse doors, it all unraveled. First, I saw a velvet chaise lounge I definitely don’t need. Then - it was a six-tier spice rack. A kayak. A weighted blanket. A 5-lb tub of Gummy Bears I haven’t stopped thinking about. By the time I made it to checkout, I was $312 deep in, “Maybe I’ll use this someday ” purchases. And that’s when it hit me. This is exactly what shiny object syndrome looks like. Not just in Costco. In business. You start with a clear goal - launch a course, a new service or a new product, finish your website, close three new clients. But somewhere along the way, you get distracted by someone else’s launch, a new app, a Canva template you’ll definitely use one day. You buy a course. Download a funnel template. Rebrand your business at midnight. Before you know it, you’re carting around half-baked ideas and unopened tools you never actually needed, and your real revenue-generating work is buried under distractions. It’s a costly habit. Not just in money but, in time, clarity, confidence, and momentum. Here’s your wake-up call => If it doesn’t drive sales, systems, or sanity - put it back on the shelf. You don’t need more stuff. You need a strategy that works. One that moves your business forward with intention and impact. So if you’re tired of carting around the chaos, and ready to focus on what actually gets results - I got you. Check out the free resources on my site or book a quick call. No pressure. Have you ever had one of your childhood memories come crashing back at ya with full volume and suddenly you're 14 again... but this time, with 40 more years of hindsight and a whole lot more humility? Yeah. That happened to me last weekend.I had the honor of being a keynote speaker at one of the best women’s business events I’ve ever attended - the WFS Female Founders Forum 2025 , hosted by the phenomenal nonprofit Women for Success . The room was filled with powerful, purpose-driven women who weren’t there to play small. They came to scale, get certified, and secure the kind of legacy their Moms would brag about at church.

Imagine losing money every time you make a sale… and choosing to do it anyway. That’s exactly what Costco has done - for 40 years straight - with their $1.50 hot dog + soda combo. Yep. One dollar. Fifty cents. No inflation. No markup. No apology. And when someone on the leadership team had the nerve to suggest raising the price? Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal flat-out said, "If you raise the price of the hot dog, I will kill you." Savage? Maybe. Strategic? 1000%. Because he got something most business owners miss entirely… => Not everything you sell is about profit. Some things are about perception. That hot dog isn’t just a cheap meal. It’s a statement: “We’re not here to nickel-and-dime you. We’re here to treat you right.” And guess what? That tiny loss leader earns them billions in customer loyalty, trust, and recurring revenue. I call this the Hot Dog Method: 🌭 Sacrifice something small. 🌭 Earn something massive. 🌭 Make it memorable. Every business can have a $1.50 hot dog moment: 🌭 A bonus your clients didn’t see coming 🌭 A “damn, no one else does that” type of policy 🌭 A ridiculously over-delivered offer that makes them tell 3 friends The key? Don’t hide it. Flaunt it. Repeat it. Build a reputation around it. Make it so obvious your clients can point and say, “That’s why I work with her. No one else shows up like that.” So here’s your million-dollar reflection: What’s YOUR $1.50 hot dog? Find it. Double down on it. Then sit back and watch your referrals multiply like Costco memberships in January.

I went to a networking event yesterday at Rosie’s Bar & Grill in Wilton Manors. Tropical-chic to the max. You know the kind of place - upscale casual, strong cocktails, mandatory valet. Now usually, I’m all about valet. But not yesterday. I wasn’t there to sip martinis or hang around all night. I could only stay for 20-minutes. That means - I was on a serious 20-minute mission: say hi, shake hands, peace out. Then, get back in my car to jump on a Zoom meeting! I certainly wasn’t about to drop $20 just to park my car for 20 minutes. No way! I pulled into the valet area, looked the guy dead in the eye, and said, “I’ll be in and out faster than your last relationship. Can I just park it right here?” And bless his heart - he said yes. Honestly, that should’ve been my win for the night. But then I met Sean Gac-Guerrier. Sean’s the Marketing Director at Excel Title, Inc. We started talking about dogs - and **cue the angels singing. We clicked instantly. Not two strangers meeting, more like two childhood friends who hadn’t seen each other in a decade! Sean showed me a photo of his dog, Dottie. I pulled out pics of my girl, Adelaide. Then he pulled out a photo of Dottie that stopped me in my tracks. Sean had a photo of what Dottie would look like as a human. Not a cartoon. Not a filter. I’m talking AI-generated, fully humanized, real-world, cardigan-wearing, intelligent-and-intimidating Dottie. I was mesmerized! It was as if Pixar and the FBI teamed up to design her. I looked at Adelaide’s pic… then looked back at Sean… and blurted out, “I need to humanize my dog!!” And I did. I went home, found the exact AI prompt, uploaded Adelaide’s photo, answered a few fun questions about her personality, and style - then… BOOM. Human Adelaide was born. Tall, lean, cozy-chic, with that unmistakable “don’t-mess-with-me-but-I’ll-still-hug-you” vibe. She looked like she ran Homeland Security and still had time for tacos and espresso martinis on a rooftop. Honestly? I stared at the image for like five minutes. Because it wasn’t just about making something cute. It was about seeing something familiar - something you know - come to life in a new way. Here’s the AI Prompt if you want to try it yourself:
